MISSION STATEMENT
The Corn Belt Collegiate Summer Baseball League is dedicated to providing collegiate baseball players with the opportunity to compete in a safe, structured, and highly competitive environment. Located in Omaha, Nebraska—recognized as the summer destination for college baseball—the league offers players a unique opportunity to compete without the hassle of traveling for games. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct both on and off the field. All participants—players, coaches, and staff—are expected to always demonstrate professionalism. It is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in the Corn Belt League to respect and adhere to these core principles. Any individual or team found to be in violation of the league’s code of conduct may face disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the league.

R U L E S 1. UNIFORMS, HELMETS, BASEBALLS, AND OTHER EQUIPMENT 1A. Players must have full baseball uniforms consisting of their college or team caps, numbered jerseys, baseball pants, socks, and belts. Each player’s uniform must match in design with his teammates. Players out of uniform will not be allowed to play. 1B. All batters and runners must wear helmets at all times — no exceptions. Full double-earflap helmets are encouraged for batting and running bases. Catchers must wear a helmet underneath their facemask. 1C. Teams must use league-issued baseballs. Each team should bring at least three (3) game balls for each game. 1D. Only wood bats are permitted. Baum bats are allowed in the CBL. 1E. Metal and plastic cleats are allowed at Seymour Smith Park. Metal cleats are not allowed at secondary turf field locations. 2. GAME LENGTH, RUN RULE, AND RAIN-OUTS 2A. All games are seven (7) innings. Four (4) complete innings constitute a full game if play is stopped due to weather. Playoff and tournament games must be played to completion. The umpire may suspend or cancel a game if player safety is at risk due to rain, lightning, weather, darkness, or time limits. 2B. If tied after 7 innings, up to two (2) extra innings will be played. If tied after 9 innings, the game is recorded as a tie. Extra innings will use the “California Tiebreaker” (last recorded out starts at second base, no outs). 2C. Seven-inning games have no new inning after 2 hours 30 minutes and a drop-dead time of 2 hours 45 minutes. If stopped at the drop-dead time, the score reverts to the last completed inning. If tied, the game may be completed per Rules 2A and 2B. 2D. Once the schedule is finalized, all games must be played as scheduled except for forfeits, weather cancellations, or administrative cancellations (e.g., power outage, facility conflict). Run Rule: Game ends if a team leads by 10 or more runs after 5 innings. 2E. Only scheduled league games on the master schedule count toward standings. Tournament and exhibition games do not count. 2F. For weather updates, call (402) 398-1238. Games may be moved to alternate locations. 3. TEAMS, PLAYERS, LINEUPS, AND ROSTERS 3A. Preliminary rosters post mid-May. Final rosters are due June 1 and must have 20–30 players. Players cannot appear on multiple rosters. Injured players may be replaced per league rules. 3B. Players who quit are ineligible to play for another team unless approved by CBL operations and released by their manager. 3C. All players must have a signed waiver on file before playing. 3D. Teams must start with at least eight (8) players. Players may be borrowed from the opposing team with consent. 3E. Less than eight (8) players results in a forfeit, though teams may scrimmage. 3F. No refunds will be issued for players who quit, are injured, or suspended. 4. GENERAL RULES

All fines must be paid in full before the coach may return to league activities. Suspensions carry over into playoff games if applicable. 7. GRIEVANCES, PROTESTS, AND APPEALS Grievances must be formally submitted to The Strike Zone for review by the Appeal Board. 8. SCHEDULING All scheduling and rescheduling is handled by the Strike Zone. 9. PROTEST / INCIDENT REPORT FORM PROCEDURES Use the official form for all incidents or protests.
