Team Philosophy 2024

 

Recruiting

The team will be comprised of 20-25players; the composition of the team is as follows:

 

·   Pitchers—8-9

·   Catchers—2-3

·   Infielders—4-5

·   First Base—2

·   Outfielders—4-5

 

Pitching

The pitching rotation and programs is listed below:

 

· Pitchers will throw no more than 30-35 innings and no less than 15 innings in the season.

· There will be a 5 man starting pitching rotation.  This will give pitchers time to train, recover and provide quality arm care during the summer.

· The remaining 4 relief pitchers will be on a three game cycle, where half of the relief pitchers will be ready to pitch for three straight games and the other half will be off.  This will give pitchers time to train, recover and provide quality arm care during the summer.

 

Playing Time

Playing time and reps will be given in the following fashion:

Position Players

· Deep consideration will be given to high profile athletes, followed by the success of the athlete’s regular season.

· The first month of games will be a trial period where athletes can prove themselves, after that, the athletes who present the best opportunity to win ball games will be played but with room for bench players to get in as well.  Every position players will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 plate appearances.  This ensures a quality experience, ample opportunity to prove ones’ self and sustains the moral of the ball club.

 

Pitchers

·   As stated earlier every pitcher will throw 15-35 innings

· Deep consideration for deciding starts will be given to those who naturally have success starting games.  NO STARTER WILL GO FURTHER THAN 7 INNINGS, WITH NO RELIEVER GOING ANY FURTHER THAN THREE INNINGS IN ANY ONE GAME.

 

Coaches

·  Coaches will have a relaxed but direct approach to coaching.

· Coaches will look to empower athletes with quality feedback.

· Coaches will have the will and drive to win but have the focus of providing a quality experience and a positive learning environment for the athletes.

· Coaches will be positive examples to the Community and the athletes as well.

· Coaches will be sure to address behavioral expectations on a consistent basis and will handle any behavioral issues with fairness and great sensitivity to the community and the Corn Belt Collegiate Summer League.

Coaches

· Recruit a respectful and extremely competitive team that represents the Corn Belt Collegiate Summer League Organization in a respectable matter.

· Provide a great summer experience filled with development, fun and intense competition.

· Continue to expand on the growth and bond of the team within the community and the Corn Belt Collegiate Summer League.

· Provide a great family atmosphere that promotes quality baseball to be on display for the fans and future players.

· Play consistent and quality baseball throughout the regular and post-season of play.

 

Players

· Honor the Corn Belt Collegiate Summer League through community service and positive examples of behavior.

· Give 100% in all activities, whether it is during competition, camps or community service events.

· Always conduct yourself in a respectable manner while at the ball park, within the community and any other place where the Corn Belt Collegiate Summer League Brand is recognized.

· Play consistent, hardnose baseball throughout the summer.

· Be a coachable athlete and have the drive to win at all times.
