Developing More Than Just Players
When coaches send their athletes away for summer baseball, they want more than just innings and at-bats. That’s where the Corn Belt League (CBL) stands apart. When coaches send their athletes to the Corn Belt League, they know their players will be cared for. Along with high-level reps, we provide structure, host families, and opportunities for personal growth—ensuring players return not only sharper on the field but more mature and responsible off it.
For many out-of-state players, Omaha is their first summer away from home. The CBL provides a structured, supportive environment where athletes can thrive both athletically and personally. Beyond high-level competition, players gain access to opportunities that prepare them for success well beyond their playing careers.
Opportunities off the field include:
Summer jobs and internships designed around the baseball schedule — from landscaping, moving companies, and golf courses to umpiring, summer camps, and business internships.
Leadership development through a Dale Carnegie Leadership course that teaches first impressions, remembering names, and communicating in professional settings.
Membership at Strike Zone Academy, an 18,000 sq. ft. indoor baseball facility with batting cages, full-length tunnels, and a fully equipped weight room.
Perhaps the most impactful part of the Corn Belt League experience is the host family program. Players are welcomed into Omaha homes, giving them a true “home away from home.” These connections often extend far beyond the summer. Families have attended former players’ weddings, traveled to watch them play at their universities, and even vacationed together. Some host families from as far back as 2016 are still in close contact with the athletes they welcomed into their homes.
“The Corn Belt League’s mission is bigger than baseball,” said league officials. “We’re helping coaches develop responsible, well-rounded young men who will represent their programs well long after the summer ends.” For coaches seeking a trusted destination for their athletes, the Corn Belt League offers the best of both worlds — elite competition paired with off-the-field growth that makes a lasting impact.
