With a 20-8 record, the Red Raiders edged out the Cropdusters by just half a game, clinching the regular season title on the final day in classic Red Raider fashion: dominant pitching, relentless defense, and havoc on the base paths. While their offense wasn’t the flashiest on paper—ranking tied for sixth in team batting average at .241—the Red Raiders mastered the art of manufacturing runs. Their aggressiveness on the base path led to a league best 77 stolen bases, keeping pressure on opposing defenses every inning.
Pitching Wins Championships
What truly separated the Red Raiders from the pack this summer was their elite pitching and lockdown defense. Over 28 games, they gave up just 86 runs—the lowest in the league—earning them the title of the toughest team to score on. Behind the plate, their catchers threw out 50% of the runners that attempted to steal on them, a league record! Their pitchers led the league in nearly every major statistical category:
* Opponents' Batting Average: .192
* WHIP: 1.26
* Team ERA: 2.40
* Least Hits Allowed
Sam Palfini turned heads all season long with a dazzling 1.19 ERA, striking out 23 in just over 29 innings. Meanwhile, workhorse McCann anchored the rotation with 40 innings pitched, a 2.27 ERA, 42 strikeouts, and a minuscule .174 opponent average.
Offense by Committee
Though not overpowering with the bats, the Red Raiders made their hits count. Evan Hansen emerged as a sparkplug, slashing his way to a .382 average with 29 hits, including 8 for extra bases, and leading the league in hit-by-pitches (10), showing his fearless approach at the plate. Dylan Brisbois and Jackson Steele each knocked in 23 RBIs, providing timely production in big moments.
A True Team Effort
From the top of the order to the back end of the bullpen, every Red Raider contributed. Whether it was a clutch stolen base, a diving grab in the outfield, or a pressure-packed save, this team thrived on doing the little things right. Their balance, hustle, and buy-in to the team’s gritty identity carried them through close contests and helped them secure another chapter of Red Raider regular season greatness.
