OMAHA, NE —
The Corn Belt League (CBL) proudly announces the conclusion of its 10th summer season, marking a decade of player development, community engagement, and continued growth as one of the Midwest’s premier collegiate summer baseball leagues. Founded on the mission to provide high-level summer baseball with minimal travel, professional development opportunities, and access to elite training resources, the Corn Belt League continues to set the standard for excellence and impact within the collegiate summer baseball landscape.
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
CORN FEST ALL-STAR GAME
The annual “Corn Fest” All-Star Game brought together top talent from across the league in an exciting In-State vs. Out-of-State format. The game ended in a 7–7 tie following a late-inning comeback. In addition to the on-field action, fans enjoyed over 400 ears of corn served, exciting raffle prizes, and a lively, community-filled atmosphere supporting collegiate athletes. Unfortunately, the league’s Military Appreciation Game was canceled due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions, but we remain committed to resuming this important tradition in the future.
CBL REPRESENTED IN WICHITA
A collective group of CBL players represented Omaha in the SummerBall Showdown in Wichita, posting an impressive 3–1 record. The team outscored opponents 27–0 in their first three games before falling in the quarterfinals. The performance highlighted the CBL’s ability to develop talent that competes at a national level against other top-tier summer leagues across the country.
OFF-THE-FIELD GROWTH & THE OMAHA EXPERIENCE
The Corn Belt League’s impact extends beyond baseball, providing players with opportunities to grow personally and professionally during their time in Omaha.
This summer we had dozens of players took advantage of local job opportunities, including umpiring youth tournaments, construction, moving services, and summer camps. These jobs helped players offset league fees while gaining valuable work experience.
Almost every out-of-state player had the chance to attend a College World Series game, a unique and memorable part of the Omaha summer experience.
Players also received a membership to the Strike Zone Training Academy, which features batting cages, tunnels, mounds, and a fully equipped weight room. Another new partnership this summer was exclusive access for players to utilize UNO’s Pitching Lab for advanced biomechanical analysis and development.
LOOKING AHEAD
As the Corn Belt League closes the door on its 10th season, it continues to raise the bar for what a collegiate summer league can be. With a centralized, professionally operated format, high-level competition, and strong community support, the league is positioned for even greater success in the years ahead.
“We’re proud of what we’ve built, but even more excited about what’s next.” -Joe Siwa, CBL Commissioner
