Corn Belt League Celebrates 11th Season of Summer Collegiate Baseball in Omaha
OMAHA, NE — June 5, 2026
As Omaha once again welcomes the nation's biggest stage in college baseball, the Corn Belt Summer Collegiate Baseball League has started its 11th season by bringing together nearly 200 collegiate athletes from across the country for a summer focused on growth, competition, and community.
The 2026 CBL season features nine Omaha-based teams and players representing 88 different colleges and universities from across the United States. While the league provides a highly competitive environment on the field, its mission extends far beyond baseball.
Throughout June and July, players spend their summers balancing games, practices, local employment opportunities, and community involvement while many out-of-state athletes live with host families throughout the Omaha metro area. The league's Host Family Program has become one of its defining features, giving players a true home away from home while creating lasting relationships within the community.
The Corn Belt League also brings together coaches from across the country, with this year's staff including baseball coaches from Nebraska as well as Connecticut, Washington, Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Ohio.
People see the games, but the league is about so much more than baseball. Our goal is to help these young men develop both as athletes and as people. They're working jobs, building relationships, participating in leadership workshops, giving back to the community, and creating memories that last long after the summer ends. Omaha has become one of the best baseball cities in America and we're proud to be a part of that tradition.
Founded in 2016, the Corn Belt League was created to provide collegiate players with a high-level developmental experience while allowing them to spend the summer in one location rather than traveling across the country. The league continues to grow each year, drawing athletes and coaches from coast to coast while further establishing Omaha as a destination for summer collegiate baseball. The 2026 season runs throughout June and July.
